About This Project
Leybourne Lakes is a pretty handy place to have nearby. For the lucky residents of Snodland it’s just round the corner.
The Country Park was created in 2004 from disused gravel pits that have been flooded and landscaped. Covering an area of 230 acres, there are also wetlands, grasslands, hedgerows and woodlands, with beautiful views to the North Downs. Birdwatching, fishing, canoeing, diving and walking are just some of the activities available. The Lakes are also well-known for the nightingales which make their home here.
Landmark has been working at Leybourne since 2016 and has installed recycled plastic waymarker posts for the lakeside trails, oak fingerposts and a beautiful oak monolith. This features the well-known nightingale engraved onto the face, along with an informative interpretation panel.
