About this Project
This project is more than just London’s first new mainline railway station for over 10 years. It includes a vital new pedestrian bridge to link formerly divided communities, new sidings and staff centre. Positioned on the Midland Main Line it will enable you to get to St Pancras in around 12 minutes, to Farringdon for Central London and Heathrow on the Elizabeth Line, and to Luton.
But this still isn’t the full picture. The Brent Cross Cricklewood programme is one of the largest regeneration programmes in Europe, which will change an underused industrial area into a living, leisure, retail and business destination. 6700 homes along with the infrastructure of commercial and retail spaces, green areas and improved school and healthcare will make this a really vibrant area to support. The figures are extraordinary – 14 million square feet to create a new town centre, 3 million square feet of offices, 27,000 jobs and so it goes on…
Clearly wayfinding is going to play a significant part in helping residents, workers, visitors and tourists find their way around and Landmark were very pleased to be awarded the tender for the Brent Cross West station monoliths and fingerpost signs. With our history of being born and growing up in Barnet it was clearly a project very dear to us and the finished results look outstanding.
Of course a lot of hard work went into the whole project and the final deadline before the Mayor of London opened the station was looming too close for comfort. The monoliths and fingerposts were fabricated, delivered and installed with just days to spare and are now part of the scenery in this rapidly developing area.
The Lisbon monolith was a perfect solution with its clean minimalist lines showing enhancing the graphics, while the Venice fingerpost is the go-to product for these projects being durable, versatile and customisable.
